Dregate Shire meeting September 27th,
2009
Present:
Dalbach, Angus, Mellisa, Nora, Kai, Broc, Mondu, Conual, Ihon,
Dubheasa, Sven, Oso.
Dalbach
called the meeting to order and began with officer reports.
Master
of Stables-Nora reported there had been an impromptu equestrian meeting
the day before. Goals set for the winter are making helms, crests and
additional lances/equipment to add to the activities we can do. It is
hoped that the Tonasket Rodeo Grounds will prove to be a good site for
more equestrian activities. The equestrians would like to see a Fur and
Feather on next year’s calendar so we can have a local equestrian
event.
Heavy
fighting-Nora reported that heavy practices continue and will move them
to an earlier hour now that weather is cooling and darkness comes
earlier in the evening. She suggested a phone tree be developed for
improved communication should time/location change unexpectedly. A
fighters workshop sometime this winter was discussed and many seemed in
favor, none opposed the idea.
Herald-Kai
reminded all that he is willing to help submit any names/devices that
people have been working on. See Creakings for his contact info.
Exchequer-
Ihon reported that even with light attendance, the Revel finished with
$94 to the good, nms form ready to go to Kingdom. The shire is in
transition between Coulee Dam Credit Union and the NCNB. We have
$1135.87 total in our coffers.
He also
reported that the intended storage unit owners have not returned calls
so we will utilize the second one on our list, at a sum of $40 per
month.

Upcoming event-
All
Champions Event-October 10-11 Mondu reports that all is in order with
the Rodeo grounds, and we have permission to set up on Friday evening.
Ihon volunteered to haul regalia needed, and champions should be
co-ordinating with him on regalia needed to be brought and help with
its transport. Our heavy Champion Garvin has a schedule conflict with
doing that tourney on Sunday and has asked that it be moved to
Saturday. All were in favor, so the schedule will be revised.
New
business:
Dalbach
brought up the Shire Charter/by-laws and suggested they be reviewed and
updated. After the Championship a meeting will be held in which all are
welcome to review and make suggestions. Said suggestions will be
brought to the populace for approval.
He
reminded people that the Hour of Anarchy is near, next month so people
should read the current Creakings and note duties of officers. Service
is the wheel-spoke of our organization!
Red
Lantern: will be held February 6, 2010, year of the Tiger. Dalbach
MacDara volunteered to autocrat and Conual the Carric volunteered to
feastocrat. An invitation has been sent to the current Crown Prince and
Princess Owain and Wren, who will be Majesties at the time of Red
Lantern. It is hopeful that they will accept our invitation, along with
TRH Ulfgar and Rene. This will mean the need for many volunteers!
Fur and
Feather: Nora offered to autocrat, and will be looking at dates that
are non-conflicting with neighboring branches events.
An
A&S weekend was discussed, still many projects people could
teach/learn. After the Hour of Anarchy it will be pursued.
Dalbach
brought up the new Kingdom ruling that Patrons relationships must be
renewed every two years to remain valid. Some discussion ensued, and
Oso volunteered to contact Countess Melissa Kendal to see where she
stands on the issue.
Meeting
was adjourned and we all admired the equestrian helm that Sven brought
to show and explain.It further inspired equestrians!
